KELLY RUTHERFORD & ANTHONY GIOVANNI

A Creative Bond Forged in Family and Love

Paris. The city of light—and of love. A place where art, culture, and inspiration effortlessly intertwine. It’s here, in a quiet corner of the bustling metropolis, that I meet with siblings Kelly Rutherford and Anthony Giovanni.

Their energy is exactly as you’d expect: Kelly, warm and kind, with an elegance that instantly makes you feel at ease; Anthony, effortlessly cool, radiating a laid-back LA attitude paired with undeniable style. The two share a bond that feels both familiar and extraordinary: a connection rooted in family, creativity, and a deep appreciation for life’s beautiful details. They laugh easily, finish each other’s sentences, and, above all, inspire one another.

How did we meet?

How did we meet?

I launched The TwentyFour Six in March 2024 with the ambition to create a platform with a soul—featuring people I admire and creating beautiful items together.

A couple of months in, I woke up to a new follower: the one and only Kelly Rutherford. Surprised and delighted, Kelly had always been a role model of class and elegance. First, as an Upper East Side mother with a Parisian flair (and a strong Hermès bag collection) in her role as Lily van der Woodsen in Gossip Girl—the TV show I eagerly watched as a kid. I’m not lying when I say I looked forward the most to the parts where Kelly appeared. I don’t know why, but she had this strength and allure that I admired so much.

Elegance and Style

A few years ago, as I started following Kelly in real life, I realized this wasn’t just a role she played. Whether attending A-list fashion shows, prestigious events, or casually taking her mirror selfies, she always looked flawless and elegant. Nothing pretentious—just very genuine.

I didn’t think too much about why she had followed me. I definitely didn’t expect my dad to call me two hours later from London, asking: “Did a certain Kelly start following you?” The night before, he had met her and shared a conversation about me and my work. He told me that Kelly was interested in what I was building and encouraged me to reach out.

A Creative Partnership

A Creative Partnership

So, I did. Kelly and I started chatting through Instagram, and before long, we were on a call. I shared everything about The TwentyFour Six with her, and she, in turn, told me about her wish to launch a creative platform with her brother, Anthony, a talented designer whom Kelly is very close to. They both share an eye for beauty and an appreciation for life’s finest details. We talked about making an exclusive design for The TwentyFour Six and the debut piece of Kelly and Anthony’s partnership, which they named R+G.

From then on, our calls always included the three of us. I immediately saw how aligned Kelly and Anthony are, how easily they agree on ideas, and how much they respect each other. Excited and eager to design something beautiful, the process was smooth and natural.

Avec Amour

We began exchanging inspirations—bent bronze sculptures, brutalist jewelry, and vintage pieces that carried a certain timeless chic. Slowly, our vision took shape. The result? A necklace that embodies everything we love.

The pendant's raw, brutalist texture contrasts beautifully with a delicate engraving: Avec Amour—a reminder that love exists in both strength and softness. Its uneven surface invites touch, creating a tactile connection, like an heirloom with a story of its own.

“We wanted something with a both masculine and feminine feel,” Anthony says. “The uneven texture draws you in, makes you want to touch it. We were inspired by artists like Berrocal and Björn Weckström—sculptors who blurred the line between art and jewelry.”

Kelly nods, holding the pendant in her hands. “It has this grounding energy. When you hold it, you’re reminded to slow down, to stay present. And the engraving—Avec Amour—is the essence of everything we believe in. Everything meaningful starts with love.”

Our Conversation with Kelly and Anthony

Our Conversation with Kelly and Anthony

The warmth between them is evident—their connection genuine and deeply rooted in shared history.

After months of FaceTime calls and countless sketches, we’re finally here in person.

Big hugs are exchanged, as though this isn’t the first time we’ve met. The excitement for what we’ve created together is undeniable.

It was a pleasure being in the same room with them. We caught up, prepared for the interview, and started filming. We talked about inspiration, family, creativity, and love.

Let's start with introductions.

Let's start with introductions.

The TwentyFour Six: What do you admire most about each other?

The TwentyFour Six: What do you admire most about each other?

Anthony: Oh, perseverance and elegance. Those are the two.

Kelly: I’d say kindness, generosity… really. Anthony is just a good human. A good person.

Anthony: (laughs) I gave her a hundred dollars to say that. Paid her in advance.

Creativity is such a core part of both your lives. Where does it come from?

Creativity is such a core part of both your lives. Where does it come from?

Kelly: Our mom’s really creative. She was a model and she did interior design. She’s always very chic. And our grandparents—Mimi and Pop—they were very elegant. I think it partly comes from that. And with Anthony, people would always ask him to come style things, even when he wasn’t a stylist. They’d ask, “Can we use your surfboard, your car, your jacket?” It just happened naturally for him.

Anthony: As a kid, I couldn’t put the guitar down. I went into music, then styling, and then I worked at a place called 20th Gallery in LA. They had amazing collectible vintage and contemporary pieces mixed with work from local artists. That got me into furniture and home design. I got really into brutalism, and I think that’s partly how we started working on this design.

What—or who—inspires you the most?

What—or who—inspires you the most?

Kelly: My family. Definitely. Starting with my grandparents, my mom and Anthony… We've always been very close. But also just people you meet along the way—at a museum, or on a walk. There’s inspiration everywhere.

Anthony: Family and music. Music first, then art. Film sometimes too. But music is probably my biggest source of inspiration.

Why collaborate with The TwentyFour Six?

When we first met, you mentioned wanting to start a creative project together. Can you tell us more about this?

When we first met, you mentioned wanting to start a creative project together. Can you tell us more about this?

Kelly: We’ve been talking about doing something together for years, and this collaboration with The TwentyFour Six was the perfect way to begin. We love the idea of creating meaningful, curated objects with a story behind them. This was just a really cool opportunity to collaborate on something and we love what you're doing.

Anthony: We imagine R+G as a platform where we can continue making pieces like this—timeless, tactile, and personal. We love collaborating with people who value craftsmanship and storytelling, and The TwentyFour Six represents that perfectly.

Why R+G?

Why R+G?

Anthony: Rutherford…

Kelly: and Giovanni. We liked the way it looked and sounded—it felt simple but significant.

Anthony: It sounded better than Kelly and Anthony. The idea is to create a platform where we can share objects we design or curate. We want everything to feel timeless and meaningful.

What did we make together? Why 'Avec Amour'?

What did we make together? Why 'Avec Amour'?

Anthony: "Kelly comes from a place of love with everything she does in her life, 99.99% of the time."

What was the inspiration behind the design?

What was the inspiration behind the design?

Anthony: We wanted something timeless with a bit of brutalist texture. There’s a biomorphic feel to it that makes you want to touch it. I was inspired by artists like Berrocal and Björn Weckström—people who understood how to blend sculpture with jewelry. And we liked the balance of masculine strength and feminine softness.

Kelly: The pendant has a grounding energy. When you hold it, it has this weight that connects you to the moment. And I love the inscription—Avec Amour, which means “with love.” Everything starts from love. And it really does feel like something you could pass down through generations.

What do you hope people feel when they wear the avec Amour Pendant?

What do you hope people feel when they wear the avec Amour Pendant?

Kelly: Grounded. It has this comforting weight to it—it reminds you to slow down and be present. And of course, the Avec Amour inscription is there to remind us all that love is the root of everything.

Anthony: It’s also just a beautiful piece and nice to have the option to wear it on the cord or the chain.

You travel all the time, How do you stay grounded? Is there anything that you do wherever you go, you have your ritual or your sports or hobby that you hold on to?

You travel all the time, How do you stay grounded? Is there anything that you do wherever you go, you have your ritual or your sports or hobby that you hold on to?

Kelly: I just try not to think about it too much, because it can be overwhelming when you travel a lot. But I think it's also exciting. When I'm home for a while, I always think, ‘oh, I'm excited to get to the airport. I'm excited for the next adventure.’ So I think part of it is just seeing it as an adventure. I travel with my beeswax candles, and sometimes I meditate, or I just do my yoga on the move. It keeps you sort of on your toes.

If you had one piece of advice to share, what would it be?

If you had one piece of advice to share, what would it be?

Anthony: The problem is giving advice that you don't take yourself. Because the first thing I would say is put the phone down, live in the moment and then as the second we get off this, I'm going to be on my phone on the way to something. So that's the hard thing, it is to give advice that you would take yourself, but I think it's living in the moment and stepping away. As far as creativity, technology and creativity are so interconnected nowadays, but it is really great when you can put the technology down and just come from a place of inspiration, analogue inspiration.

Kelly: I think a lot of things stem back to nature. If you really spend time in nature, I think it's the greatest teacher and everything's been given to us, everything. A lot of it too is just what comes from within. We're always looking outward for everything. Whether it's validation, whether it's love, whether it's creativity and it's a big distraction from what's really going on within our own home frequency. We're each here to do something. And it's simple. It's not complex.

So I think it's taking the time, when Anthony's saying, we talk about unplugging from the phone, but it's more just taking a little bit of time every day, whether it's going for a walk, whether it's getting quiet, lighting a candle, having a ritual for you that brings you back to your home frequency, what you're here to do, connecting with you. I'm always doing this (puts hand on chest). Even when we do this with our bodies, it immediately grounds you, right? You're immediately like, 'ah, this area'.

Our body is so connected to source that if we take the time, even a little bit of time to sit and get quiet and listen, so much comes through. Even with a journal, I do that sometimes. Just getting quiet with a journal and see what that news is. Turn off the other news and listen to the news coming through. It's there and it's coming through and it wants to be heard. We're just constantly distracted. It's really the most important thing and it's where your source of personal power comes from. It's where your source of vision and direction comes from and it's very healing.

Once you connect with that more and more and it becomes more expansive, then you can go anywhere and you're carrying your home frequency with you. You're entering the room with your own rather than constantly being influenced so much by the outer. Because everything that's here is here because of a thought.

We believe in living life 24/6 instead of 24/7. Take one day off. If you had a perfect day off, what would it look like?

We believe in living life 24/6 instead of 24/7. Take one day off. If you had a perfect day off, what would it look like?

Anthony: Talking to the family—or maybe not talking to the family if I really need a break. (laughs) A walk, some music, maybe a game of tennis. Simple things.

Kelly: Family time. Just slowing down and being present. I think we all need that reminder sometimes

As the interview draws to a close, Kelly holds the pendant once more, tracing the uneven texture with her fingertips. “It feels like something you’ve had forever,” she says. “Timeless, grounding… and made with love.”

The Avec Amour pendant marks more than the debute of R+G. It’s the embodiment of a sibling bond, a shared creative vision, and a reminder that the most meaningful creations—like the strongest relationships—always start with love.
